Can you keep a secret? For a while now, I’ve been pulling together a surprise for my three grandsons. It’s a small volume containing some of the “life lessons” I’ve learned over the years. I harbor no illusions that it’ll keep them from making their own mistakes; we all need to find our own way. But if nothing else, maybe someday it’ll help them fill in a more complete picture of who their “Pops” is (or was), and how he got that way.
